"If you expect disappointment, then you can never really get disappointed." -MJ from Spider-Man: No Way Home The Halo franchise is already a mess, so why not add this to the slow burning bush? All I'm gonna say after the first episode is: -bad pacing of the show, -bad cgi with a $19 million dollar budget -mediocre acting -awful soundtrack -creating a new canon just...because? Things I did like: -the first 15 minutes of the episode. I really do hate to see the Halo Franchise slowly die. I wish it were doing better but it needs to be handled better than how it's being handled right now.

I really did enjoy the atmosphere of this book. Constantly anticipating what's going to happen next in each chapter with mind-blowing references to the games. You're probably thinking, "of course there are references to the games...they're the foundation of the series." This is true but after this book, I actually hold sympathy, and interest with one of the characters in the games I HATED. It can be dry in some places and I got confused with the switching of narration at times like, "Whoa, who's talking now?" But the flow of the story really helps to get back on track and figure out who is speaking. I would read this book late at night before going to bed because it was hard to put down. If you're a halo fan you'll definitely enjoy the lore and story of the second installation (no pun intended) of the forerunner trilogy. Other reviews comment about the grammar not being great. It's good but I understand where people can be upset at some points, but I was genuinely more invested and driven in the story that it didn't really bother me.
