I really wanted Captain Marvel to be a special film after her bad track in Marvel Comics where she was rebooted so many times for the lack of interest in the last years. But... damn! What a boring movie and bland character. It's emotionless, doesn't have the life or spirit from other Marvel movies.
As origin movie I was expecting to learn to care about Carol Danvers as I did with Captain America, IronMan, Scarlet Witch, Black Widow, Thor and the other heroes, but I was there sitting in my favorite cinema waiting for something to happen to embrace the character but I couldn't found it.
I suspect it has to be a bad script because I don't thing someone can act like Brie Larson for two hours and being so bland. This character feels so "deus ex machina" that I'm afraid what could mean for the next Avengers plot. Hopefully the Russo Brothers will improve the character and her intervention in Endgame.
I'll remember this movie for the cool explosions in there - specially in the third act -, Ben Mendelsohn, Samuel L Jackson and Clark Gregg doing what they can with that awful and predictable script, the awesome CGI for the younger versions from the last two; but other than that it's a missed opportunity.
If I have to use one word, its a BAD movie that could have been more. For me, the film is next to The Incredible Hulk and Thor The Dark World, movies that I know are part from the MCU but I just do not watch them more than one time or recommended them to anyone.
