Well made if naive storyline with an anti-Soviet propaganda bias. (Whilst the USSR sought to abolish nuclear weapons, Ronald Reagan sought to expand the United States' nuclear arsenal. Likewise it was the Soviets who prevented nuclear war when Vasily Arkhipov refused to fire nuclear missiles during the Cuban Missile Crisis.) The main naivete however, derives from the writer's childlike belief that nature will provide for humanity following a massive nuclear strike and its resultant radioactive contamination.

A decent film - well written and more thought provoking than most. Surprised by the poor reviews.

A horror film in which Hollywood and the United States portrays itself and the actors play themselves, especially Warren Beatty, ie. an unfaithful, womanising narcissist. There is no effective satire. No depth. Shampoo is Beatty's vanity vehicle.

Pilger fails to recognise that China has become a global 'capitalist' sweatshop, one that the United States is quite happy to get into bed with, and hence the reason why multiple American corporations have set up business there. Chinese oligarchs are exploiting and oppressing the Chinese proletariat and should the Chinese proletariat rise up then America will wage war against China - or to be more precise, America will wage war against the Chinese proletariat.

Magical contemplation about nurturing the inner child throughout one's whole lifetime. Unfortunately, Disney have destroyed much of their legacy by remastering their classics, resulting in clearer but cruder images that are missing much of the finer detail. Try to find a version that hasn't been digitally restored or that is not BluRay.

Memorable, intense and brilliant. If there was any justice in the world this film and Marion Cotillard would have won Oscars. I notice how the wealthy, who are reviewing it, are complaining about a lack of suffering - the rich want to see poor people suffer more - (think about that for a minute). 'Two Days, One Night' is a work of moral integrity.

The normalising of violence by Hollywood is an immoral crime that goes unpunished. Unfortunately, this film has inspired a mentally unstable person to kill in real life. Violence means victims.

The comic book dynamic that underpins Dick Tracy (1990) makes it impossible to emotionally invest, which is a shame because aesthetically the film is a visual feast. Madonna acts quite well in this, as do most of the cast. Unfortunately, Al Pacino massively over-acts his role causing him to inadvertently break the fourth wall. Artistic integrity is not enough to make this work.

Bizarre and unique - sincere and surreal, Pandora And The Flying Dutchman is a lovingly crafted romantic fantasy painted onto celluloid. There is nothing else like it. It needs a proper picture and sound restoration to stop the hands of time.
