Tedious all around. By the time the thin story and characters begin to develop, the movie is almost over. With 20 minutes to go, the cliches go into gear, with Bogart quitting his shady civilian job to heroically join forces with the US Army to win against a band of Japanese hoodlums who's character line is to be seen furtively peering around the nearest door.
Bringing back a poorly cast vintage 1930s Shirley Temple for her fans was a big fail. The conclusion of every scene was telegraphed in advance, including Bogart's final, lingering martyrdom. Five stars to anyone who can watch it to the end!
