I had to take time out to celebrate the brilliance that is Ava Duvernay - the vision, the storytelling, the casting, the execution. I must applaud the black excellence in front of and behind the camera. Based on my own research and having grown up in NYC in the 80s/90s, I was impressed by the level of accuracy in the details. Though I knew how it would end, every moment was spent on the edge of my seat, heart racing and eyes affixed to my television. I watched with my family and we could not help but yell at the television when the characters like Linda Fairstein, Elizabeth Lederer, Tim Clements, Mike Sheehan, John Hartigan, Humberto Arroyo, Carlos Gonzalez and late judge Thomas Galligan wrongfully and knowingly persecuted those innocent children. This is a must watch for 2019. Highly recommend.
