I absolutely loved this book. I'm old enough to remember the conscription in Australia, how young men's names were " pulled out of a hat" depending when their birthday was. I knew quite a few who went to Vietnam and then not much else until they came home. Not celebrated or congratulated on surviving or anything. This book told me a lot of what they went through and the brave nurses who cared for all the wounded and casualties. Things I'd never thought about and although I knew they weren't praised when they came home, I never realised the harm this did to each and every one of them. I enjoyed this book immensely, didn't want to put it down and cried at the end. Well done Kristin Hannah, I recommend this book wholeheartedly.
