A love letter to Paris and it's Golden Age
It's been a while since I've seen something unpretentiously intelligent, thought provoking, romantic, and oddly insightful (even into my own life). When watched with a writer's or artist's eye, it serves to evoke a sense of giddy excitement for the unseen potential yet to be expressed. The thrill of encountering imaginative and literary heroes in the flesh is a delight for sure. As a whole, Midnight in Paris reminds us that there is a promise of truthful new beginnings when we accept the present moment as it is, out of time or not.
As a side note, I've never been to Paris and had never really given it serious thought. Woody Allen however, has sparked a fiery curiosity in me to explore the dream-like romance of Parisian life and for that I must express my humble thanks.
