It started off slowly, but Cynthia Erivo's performance was worth the wait. Not having read the book, I can't comment on the actual story line, but personally would have welcomed another ten minutes to see how their relationship progressed.

It was definitely dark, but kept the surprises coming. Hearing Cynthia Erivo sing Acapella throughout the movie was just an added bonus. Chris Hemsworth is somebody worth following.
