This book is insanely sexist. It's like reading from r/menwritingwomen. The main character objectifies women yet he's supposed to be a "nice guy" He goes on about abortions and c sections which aren't even relevant to the scene. The authors personal opinions on what women should and shouldn't do/be bleeds through and compromises the books story and characters. It's very unfortunate that this book is being taught in schools and shows the clear bias we as a society have over the "classics." For any students out there, remember to view everything critically. Your teachers aren't all knowing and they can be wrong about many things. Especially with the way things are going in America now you need to be critical of authority figures.

I remembered this book randomly today, so I looked up the plot and here it is! Doll Bones, I read this when I was pretty young and never finished it but I still remember that scene where they went into the baker's store. I don’t think I was able to read past it. I got bored quickly by its predictable tropes even then. This is a fun idea but it’s just executed really basic and boringly. I’d advise getting another book or reading it in a library so you don’t spend money on it.
