This game is truly a masterpiece. I have never played any of the Dark or Demon Souls games. I played Bloodborne but gave up about halfway because I am not good at Souls games. I played Sekiro but didn't enjoy it THAT much. (though Sekiro is also an amazing game) Elden Ring is incredibly difficult but with the open world being full of things to do and the non-linear design of the game means I can go and level or experience other things until or when I'm ready to engage with what I was stuck on.
The camera and targeting system could use some work but that's to be expected for a full open-world game. There are a lot of commands and controls that aren't explained (At least clearly) in game and for new players to Souls games I can imagine it would be very jarring to pick up the control scheme. I had not problem googling questions I had and exploring control options/menus to find my answers but I will acknowledge it is convenient. Aside from that I love this game and am excited to dump even more hours into it, I never thought I would be good at Souls-like games but after beating Radahn first try I can say I'm extremely happy that I took the time to learn this game's mechanics.
Already looking forward to my 2nd playthrough!
