Hao Ze

Wow, to see season 1's phenomenal writing and character development, to season 2 was such a huge letdown. It is like season 2 has thrown everything great about season 1 down the drain. Isha was nothing but a plot device, the sisters' conflict was resolved effortlessly, Zaun and Piltover's conflict was pushed aside, and characters were assassinated/retconned. Not only that, season 2 also contrives to have the most convoluted plot in an atrocious way, has bad pacing, and contradicts the writing from season 1. It is like season 2 had tried narrating 9 stories in 9 episodes, rushing the whole plot, leaving unresolved plot lines to be unanswered and left in the dust, and making the story excessively convoluted as it does not allow viewers to educe information on what is transpiring. Furthermore, season 2 had an insane amount of potential if done right, The season should not have focused on the irrelevant and unimportant plots, which resulted in the essential plots (from season 1) being thrown aside and never mentioned again. Overall, season 2 had a legion amount of potential to deliver a great story, could be great as or greater than season 1, yet the writers were incompetent to deliver both.

Absolute disappointment. I have been requested so much by my friends to watch this anime, and I did. I have lots of critics about this show, it's not less, but A LOT. However, let's start with the good first about this show. The Good: 1) The story is really easy to understand. 2) I love the power system in the anime, using swords and 'breathings' is an amazing power. Good creativity. 3) Demons look sick, another good creativity for each of their power and how they work. 4) Characters' backstory are well done. Although not perfect and could have better imo. 5) Fights are good. 6) Animation is peak. The Bad: 1) The show is insanely overrated. Animes like Death Note, Jujutsu Kaisen are way better than this. People overrate this show as well because of the animation. 2) The storyline is way too bold and boring (imo), not interesting. 3) No character development, probably one of the worst. 4) The fights are messy, ex: Muichiro vs Gyomei. Gyomei's fight was so short, and he didn't even had a backstory. 5) Tanjiro is way too overpowered, how can he literally straight up defeat an Upper 4 demon when he was in coma for two months?! Shouldn't he train more to get back his skills? 6) Power ranking is way too messy. Same thing with 5). How can Tanjiro defeat an Upper 4 after he was in coma for two whole months. 7) How does Tanjiro know his breathing moves? Without much knowledge about Hinokami Kagura moves, how does he know straight up after having the breathing? 8) Give more focus to side characters. I get it, Tanjiro is the main character, but shouldn't side characters get some spotlight as well? 9) Execution is disgusting. 10) No explanation about how the power works. Now, this might be a me problem. However, I prefer animes that explain powers like Jujutsu Kaisen. 11) Demons' powers, need explanation as well. 12) Show us how Yoriichi made the breathings. Again, might be a me problem, but I prefer to know or understand how they were born/created. How did he do it? How did the create it? How does he know how to create breathings? 13) The fights are good, but I just don't really have interest in them. That's all, more Bads than Goods. There might be some critics that I haven't include in here. But for now, these are my problems with this show. The show is mid imo. But I still like the story simplicity. Not one of my favourite animes, but at least it is still somewhat watchable for me.
