The one time I get excited to play a game about ninjas and samurai in ac lore and the main character is black?… I’m not racist. But as an Asian male it sucks when a person of another ethnicity is depicted as being the face of all samurai... and not only that, but he’s depicted as whooping all the other Asian samurai’s asses… LIKE WHAT… excuse me if I find that insulting to Japanese, and Asian culture, in general. Whoever was part of that decision-making process sucks. I get that we live in a woke period and all, but Feudal Japan? NOT THE TIME. NOT THE PLACE… Literally! Origins makes sense. Because they were in Egypt! Europe would have made sense. Because Europe’s right next to Africa! America would have made sense. Because it was the colonial period! But 1500s ASIA??? C’mon! And I get that Yusuke “technically” existed, but having him be the main character is a huge blow to Asian representation. Terrible storytelling. Both characters are unlikable. I was already starting to lose interest in Ubisoft because of spotty game releases, but this one did it. Thanks for ruining a game I’ve been waiting on for years thru bad casting ubisoft… You’re the best!

This game's goal scoring system is terrible. When playing online, I am able to create multiple easy goalscoring opportunities that will often miss the goal entirely (ex. shot from directly in front of goal). Meanwhile, my opponents are able to score from extremely difficult angles. Defending also feels very backwards. A lot of times I will win the ball only to find that it somehow ended up back with the attacker. Slide tackles are also much too effective and often abused. Blatant fouls are rarely awarded yellow/red cards. I have not played since FC 22 but when I did play I was a D2 player. It seems to me that a lot has changed since then.
