There was so much wasted potential with this episode.
All the worst of Tenant was on display.
The SHOUTY MAN, the saying words stupidly like flibberty plobblebah the waistcoat that doesn’t fit, and the haircut that is way too long in the front.
Not to mention the completely out of place allonsy.
I really hope we don’t have to keep revisiting him, now that we have our new Doctor.
What an underwhelming regeneration that was. Maybe we will get more fanfare when he gets to choose his outfit.
The Toymaker’s games were nowhere near as scary as his first outing. We had cutting cards, and catch. Along with Donna swatting dolls away.
Mel gave us exposition. Then Donna gave us exposition. Then Kate gave us exposition. Then the Doctor gave us exposition. These three specials, all written by Russell T. Davies, have been heavy on the exposition, and I just wish it would stop. It’s lazy writing.
Next we get a Christmas episode. I will miss having a New Year episode. It felt fresh facing the next year with my Doctor.
