I’m convinced the ratings on this one have been artificially inflated, despite ratings being higher than average across multiple platforms. It even got me asking ChatGPT about how that would be done. It’s just not that good. For reference, it’s about as serious as The Green Arrow or Smallville or something, but with a streety aesthetic. You’ll also notice that there are no white characters, which makes it feel like a product of the woke zeitgeist, although it fails on the fundamentals without taking points off for that. Curious that it rated so highly. My bet is that it’s an artifact of manipulation. If it isn’t, God help us.

I watched this because people are rating it pretty highly and saying it’s underrated. That’s undeserved in my view. Very slow first half, really crappy djinn, silly effects. Points for the novelty and originality of the Iranian setting but not good enough to suspend disbelief or stave off boredom for me.
