Beautiful language. A challenge to read but I enjoyed listening to it being read.

I listened to this book. Seemed like too much idle chatter. I was past ready for something to begin to happen. Finally finally something blew up and there was a little drama and action. Very stereotypical of southerners which seemed silly. In the end it imparted some wisdom. I guess I’m glad I read it, but it also made me a bit sad as I have no grandchildren myself, and the salvation for everyone’s spirit was the joy of that little boy.

I couldn't have gotten through this book if I had read it, but I LISTENED to it, beautifully narrated by Suzanne Toren, and it was fascinating, poetic, exciting, important, educational. I want to listen to it again now ...

Seems like one long silly story concocted to entice the reader to visit Italy. Way too descriptive of art, food, etc. I didn’t care for it.
