We watched the Tonight Show for Friday the 18th. Jimmy mentioned that his cough was caused by acid reflux (GERD).
I don't know what doctor told him this, but as a long-time sufferer from GERD, it isn't accompanied by a cough! It's accompanied by severe acid indigestion and is exacerbated by spicy food (which I love) and alcohol (which I love), but - at least in my case - there is no cough associated with it.
Please have him get another opinion about the cough he's had for the last several months.
