This movie was so good, I was honestly mind boggled when I looked it up and saw so many bad reviews. I am a huge Adam Sandler fan with all of the goofy comedies, but this was something completely different and he did an amazing job. I'm not going to punch down on anybody who didn't like it, but I feel that if you have went through similar feelings/trauma, this movie will really resonate with you. Not sure if anybody feels the same way but it gave me a similar feeling of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Adam Sandler portrayed these feelings very well in my opinion. It's a movie that makes you think about what you have, about the things you have been through, and what you have taken for granted. I do understand that many people nowadays are so caught up in "real life" they feel it is pointless to explore their consciousness or try to understand their feelings on that deep of a level, so I can understand why they wouldn't care for something like this. People are not comfortable with being emotional in certain ways. I just really hope Sandler and the production team don't get discouraged by it, because I would absolutely love to see more of this and see Adam continue to step outside his comfort zone. Truly I believe the negative reception is temporary and within a few months this movie will be recognized for how good it is. Bottom line, an amazing, thought provoking movie with beautiful visuals. The people who were bored by this movie are not the people the movie was made for. I applaud the entire team for creating this film because I am so sick and tired of the industry pushing out films without taking any risks, following the same formula as always and just trying to create blockbusters that will rake in cash. This seemed more to me like a creation with the clear goal to create ART, visually and emotionally, and they succeeded immensely. For me it was a breath of fresh air. Loved it.
