I realize that this is a popular show, as was "in Search Of" and "The X Files" but this is NOT a documentary. It is harmful and probably intentionally deceptive propaganda. It is an effort by Mr. Hancock to push extremely dubious and discredited ideas as legitimate inquiry. It is not a legitimate inquiry, and his complaints that he is not taken seriously by scholars (like myself) are correct, but not because we are trying to hide 'the truth'. I see how high the ratings are, and I am not surprised. I watched a few episodes and it is difficult to get through them. Watching this show encourages people to believe falsehoods, to reject scientific and scholarly inquiry, and to view all legitimate scholars as liars or as deliberately decieving. In fact, it is Mr. Hancock who is being deceptive. He does not respect real knowledge and learning, and he does not respect his viewers. He assumes they are fools and irrational.....sadly, the tribalism and "alternative facts" concept that has emerged in politics in recent years is part of the same phenomenon.
