Gratuitous violence, many characteristics obviously robbed from other horror movies, (amityville horror, dracula, the haunting, flowers in the attic, etc.) The psychotic nature of the film was vastly overplayed. Some of it made zero sense, and a lot of the lines were hard to hear because of the mumbling presentation and extraneous noise so popular in todays movies. It was more disturbing than entertaining. The best part of the movie was the costuming and scenery. It had the potential to be a good movie, had some of the more gratuitous depravity and violence been left out.
