Awful. Truly awful. It felt like the whole movie was just trying to force inclusivity!
Don't get me wrong, I don't mind add more diverse characters and actors. But...
Disney once again, swapped a GINGER character with a race to appease Gen Z.
Now let's get into this(Spoilers-ish):
Peter Pan is supposed to be a funny, careless, prankster. In this movie he is a little boring, barely has a personality and the script is awful.
Tinkerbell is supposed to be sassy, arrogant and hate Wendy. She is supposed to be jealous, a little self absorbed and be protective of Peter. In this movie she is a member of the "I love Wendy" fan club.🙄
The lost boys, are meant to be boys. That is why Wendy was so special and important to them. Having the female influence on them helped their growth and made them have the want to find a home. It is what made a lot of women feel special and important at an early age. I for one, loved that Wendy had so much influence as a female in a group of boys and men.
Wendy is so annoying. She wants to argue, be problematic and is in a constant PMS state. She is so irritating in every way.
Smee...I can't even get into this without being triggered. It is not smee.
There are a few things right. A FEW. Some of the small scenes in the animation movie made it in here. Like hook with his leg spread on the open jaws of the crocodile. I loved that they included a down syndrome actor for the lost boys. I liked Tiger Lily was a true native. And I also liked...nope that's actually it.
Disney, stop backwashing characters! Leave the main characters how they're meant to look and how they were Written. This is offensive to the original writer. Make a new, beautiful movie with a full black, Pakistani, diverse cast! Make a new movie. A NEW movie. Stop being lazy and just black washing!
