I personally adored this book. I'm currently in the 8th grade and this book really touched some heart strings. I'm so glad that and author like Jewell Parker Rhodes was able to write such an amazing piece. This books really elaborated about how the lives of young black kids got taken away. The author talks about racism, gun violence and rally narrarates the story well. I truly love how it's written in a 2 perspective point of views. One part Jerome is alive, the next he's dead. It's a pretty unique concept and I recommend this book to people who like historical fiction.
