I recommend this book to so many of my clients because it’s honest, poetic, and deeply human. Richo writes in a way that’s both tender and eye-opening. He doesn’t just talk about relationships he helps you understand yourself in them. I find the way he writes feels like a warm grandfather giving me the wisdom I needed to learn about on how to love.
The “Five A’s” (attention, acceptance, appreciation, affection, and allowing) are a beautiful framework for love, and the way he ties in childhood experiences, boundaries, and emotional presence really hit home for me.
This isn’t a how-to guide full of clichés it’s more of a soft but steady hand on your back, helping you grow without judgment. It helped me reflect on my patterns, slow down, and approach love with more clarity and compassion.
Definitely one of those books you highlight, dog-ear, and come back to again and again.
Thanks Grandpa Richo
