Idk why there’s so many bad reviews but it was engaging, thoughtfully made, and full of great cinematic choices and interesting topics. To me, it isn’t horror but rather a more old school thriller where you know there’s some type of spookiness but they rely on imagination/audience engagement rather than just straight gore. (Even though there is significant violence/ gore that happens.)
I would recommend this movie!! There were some scenes I think could’ve been done differently, and the end could’ve been a little more dramatic/cinematic than it was (bit of a blunder there) but all in all, was VERY good! Again, would recommend. These days people are too used to constant sensationalized/over-the-top effects, and while this movie has all of that, I think that this is a movie for someone who actually wants to thoughtfully engage and not watch mindless action or senseless gore. (But there IS gore and violence if that’s what’s you’re looking for.))
