The entire TV show is centered around promoting Islam and illuminating early Turkish expansionism in a positive light. The show's popularity and vast fan base are amusing to me, especially considering how cheap and cheesy it is. It seems that the cinematography standards may be extremely low among Muslim countries if soap opera makers can continue to produce such low-quality content on screen for years with little to no improvement and still attract millions of viewers.
Let's talk about the main character, Osman, an invincible role model who has never experienced a loss in his life. His wives are just like him, resilient, strong, confident, and capable of storming castles while pregnant. It's absolutely ridiculous how a tiny 60kg woman can take on Byzantine knights. The battle scenes are utterly unrealistic and rigged, always portraying Turks as invisible with their feeble leather armour. Not just the plot, but the battle effects are horrendous. I'm surprised they haven't invested more resources into atleast creating a somewhat realistic blood splatter rather than the cheap computer rendered one they use keep on using, reminds me of them cheap game effects. Also, the costumes look like they were literally ordered from Aliexpress lol. Actors and film locations are being constantly reused and showcased as a complete different place, for a series this popular you'd probably expect the makers to rent more extensive places for shoots.
Although at first the story may be Intruiging, it later on becomes extremely predictable and repetitive. Overall I'd give the show a 2/10.
