If you're a fan of the books, skip this one. I was so excited to watch! I just finished Uglies and am currently reading Pretties so the details are fresh in my mind (adult reading YA over here 👋). I know that the movies are never as good but gosh they butchered it. There were definitely things that I noticed at first that were changed or rearranged from the book, minor though so I was able to look past it. The CGI for hoverboarding wasn't great but tolerable. The relationship between Tally and David felt so rushed and forced. I understand that it's a lot of detail to fit into a 2 hour movie but it could've been done better. The final straw for me is how dirty they did Peris! Complete change from the books. Peris was hardly in the first book but he became a villain in the movie. They turned him into a Special who helped the bad guys, then they killed him off? Lame! I won't hold my breath for the second movie
