Overall, I did quite like the story in this book. It was gripping and kept my attention the whole way through. The reason I'm not rating it higher is because it desperately needs an editor. I lost count of the amount of times the author clearly started a sentence one way, and then changed their mind, but accidentally left a random word from the previous iteration of the sentence in so that grammatically it made no sense. There was also an instance where there is talk about the abortion pill and how it works, stating that the first of the two pills in the treatment "softens and breaks down the uterus", surely this was meant to say fetus, no doctor is going to prescribe you a pill that breaks down your organs. There were also times where it seemed the author had forgotten what they had just written, for example at one point the narrator says they stopped the car at a red light on a road so narrow that she could almost "reach out and touch the stop sign". Are you at a red light or a stop sign then? Just silly little things like that. Also at one point about two thirds of the way into the book, there was a random backslash in the middle of a sentence for no reason. This just really needs to be edited.
