Absolutely hilarious Bill Brysons observations of British culture, from his experiences over many years. I met him by accident in the fish8ng tackle shop in Keswick. He denied he was him and I felt I was in one of his awkward but funny moments. I had the last word in saying “ if you are Bill Bryson then I want to say I love your books. This was in 2000 when Bill was being interviewed by Melvin Bragg.

Absolutely joyous read for a no hold back account of our lovely, caring, companionate Paul O’Grady journey to being famous. One of my favourite celebrities like Chris Packham. Different but the same love for animals.
