Twain is easily my #1 listen. This is the best band and songwriter going. No idea how I came across Matt’s music but it really makes no difference. I spent more time with Twain this year than I did any other musician on Spotify and it just gets better every listen. No clue how he does it as it seems like magic. I remember when I was younger, I thought the same about people like Paul Simon or The Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Band or Tom Petty. It’s like it came down from another planet as an impossible achievement. Same thing here. Totally organic but somehow isn’t using elements that aren’t available here on earth. Wonderful album. Really just incredible. I have no idea how I originally came across Twain but Spotify just told me at the end of the year what my most listened to artist was in 2023 and Twain came out #1. Funny enough, my teens scream and curl up in a ball when I play Twain in the car and so there’s that. I can honestly say that, at 53 years old and having been a professional musician for the better part of my life, if I could only listen to one musician for the remainder of my days, it would be Twain.
