Started out alright. But characters are underdeveloped. There was a lot of build up for a very rushed and barely detailed ending. The whole book felt rushed, from large jumps in time, to overly detailed paragraphs about the simplest things. Time and words were wasted that could have been used to better flesh out characters and make them less superficial. The book was too predictable, plot wise, with the use of foreshadowing so obvious it became annoying. Some are saying it's somehow like The Martian, it is not. It feels like a book trying very hard to be unique and carve out a niche in sci-fi but really ends up mashing together different details from many famous sci-fi books, movies and shows.
