On the Peeble Mine No one mentioned that the mine will leave a perpetual lake of toxins. Dammed up only by soil, this lake will be gigantic. And will be left there forever. If this dam fails it will destroy the largest red salmon run in the world. Toxins left there forever in an area that has earthquakes. Peeble Mine and the army corp of engineers has altered information on the effect of this dam failing. But several universities and scientists have done their own research on a failing and the effect is catastrophic to the water and salmon. Once the minerals are gone do you think this corporation will stay there forever to monitor this toxic lake. I say no. I live in Ugashik, Alaska and fish Bristol Bay. This fishery is huge and worth a tremendous amount annually. Over a five year period over a billion dollars of fish are removed in a sustainable fishery. It also provides jobs for thousands of people.
