I played both open beta weekends and though i loved the class play, i felt there was something lacking for the long term. I of course bought the ultimate to play 4 days early, and first 20 levels i loved it again, but then my enjoyment fell off.
The main reason for this being i was not going through any area or dungeon that i had a desire to repeat.
Then level 30 came along and i moved out alot more to other areas, and act 3-6 of the game and thats is where my enjoyment exploded.
I had underestimated the dynamics and complexities of the game quite considerably.
But really, the starting area does not help is this, sure i get it they are trying to show a country of people all under immense hardship, but it gets old.
Act 6 of this game, the cinematics and gameplay as it guides you through is a bit like a Christopher Nolan movie. I highly recommed you plan 2 hours of uniterupted time to go through at 6 with all its scenes and exploring, maybe 3 hours i cannot remember. Do it all in one, as it builds up and plot twists a few surprises and a couple of encounters that just come at you out of the blue.
To be honest i played through on world tier 1 for acts 4-6, i had just respecced from sorc chain lightning to full pyro and was getting to know it and then got so caught up in the story i didnt get a chance to change it back to tier 2.
But yeah, alot to this game, but get out there, get Act 3 done and get your horse at beginning of act 4 then its explore time. Been a long time since a game gave be goose bumps, probably Diablo I
As to the release of the game, near flawless. First 4 days virtually no connection issues, then when the rest of the world came online it slowed down somewhat for a few hours, then no problems again. Not hit more than 5 minute line.
