the movie was okay. i had a few good laughs, but this movie just felt so hollow after oppenheimer. i thought this was going to be a comedy but it was just too preachy. it’s not that i disagree with the message, i just hated the delivery. if you’ve watched grays anatomy and like how doctor gray gives you a life lesson after each episode, you’ll enjoy this movie. it’s two hours of that with some comedy thrown in. in general the issue i had with the delivery is that it assumed that the audience was as oblivious as ryan gosling’s portrayal of ken. there’s no subtlety, no nuance, and it’s not clever. it’s just a “feel good” movie to push mattel products on you guised as a movie about equality.
