Yes, if you live in a duality where there's only Republicans vs Democrats, Rich vs Poor, Israeli's vs Palestinians", then you'll see this film to be 100% one-sided. But, if you see people, ordinary people, children that want to play, folks that want the basics of a good life that most of us have: clean water, fear-from-death, food, jobs and a nation-state-pride/protection, then this film will open-your-eyes, about the destitute, over-bearing, and unjust situation Palestinians in Gaza face every day. Yes, it's complicated and tragic, bc these ordinary people I reference that happen to live in Gaza, seem to be represented by "terrorist factions", at least to a degree (do we know how many ordinary Palestinians really support blood-thirsty terrorist HAMAS?), yet all of Palestine pays for their crimes. Still, how can these blow-ups and death events NOT spur young Palestinians to NOT become radicalized and blood-thirsty? If someone bombed your parents home at a young age, and you lost your brother, sister and mother, would you now avow to avenge these deaths? This shouldn't be, and I agree with a pervious poster that Israel and the World hasn't done enough to give Palestine a truly self-governing, independent and economically viable state. How can there be anything BUT what we've seen of late, with horrendous bloodshed on both sides of the fence, and the constant repression and oppression that living in Gaza represents? It takes real work, real effort, to meet-in-the-middle, to actually WANT a solution that enables both sides to live peaceably beside one-another.
Our hearts should break and motivate to see the innocent children caught-in-the-middle of demonic violence. We should be more evolved as a species to see-through the entrenched divisions that "sow the status quo" of never-ending violence and oppression. Truth be told, most of us are human and humane, and would welcome one another to live in peace and dignity, as most of us Americans do. But rather, there is an entrenched ideology that leans towards war and conquest more than peace and respect, and somehow, someway we give-in to their narrative. Yes, we MUST FIGHT TERROR, and get-at the root of it, much like what the US did to rid the world of ISIS. We must support Israel in their unique effort to do the same; But and yet, Palestine must have their own land, their own government, their own freedom outside of the Israeli "daddy-state". This is the ONLY WAY to prevent future terrorism, once the radical wing of HAMAS is destroyed. To throw-up our hands, and say, "this is an age-old conflict that will never be resolved" is to fall-into the dominant paradigm, that promotes war over peace, that promotes profits over people.
For the LOVE of GOD and the love of the kids, we must create a solution, and I can tell you, blindly supporting Israel to subvert and subjugate the Palestinian peoples is NOT the answer, or else, we wouldn't be seeing the exact same playbook aa all the past incursions and bloodlettings, especially the 2014 Gaza war.
