I just completed reading this novel, just before 15 minutes and I know its funny I came to the reviews section after the book lol, but yeah, I had to tell everyone how great and heart-touching this was.
This book was recommended to me by my elder sister and I sincerely thank her the most for buying me this book.
The book narrates the story of suppression resisted by the afghani women not only by the political institutions (Taliban), but also by the evil of the society which includes their own family members, most notably husbands (as mentions in this novel).
Some books just have everything. Although this was a masterful epic which was primarily gave an emotional touch, the writer did not fail to add some humorous content at the places where it was needed.
The writer blends the sentences in such symbolic ways that you just get awestruck. Some places just need some feelings. Some writers make it though long paragraphs and some make it via simple, elegant and subtle bunch of meaningful, yet simple words. Hosseini is one such gem.
