Star Trek is an enduring reminder that we may one day achieve the greatest goal we could ever set our sights on: exploring our part of this galaxy and discovering, hopefully, that we are NOT the only planet in this vast universe that has life...sentient life...and civilizations that want to know "what's out there?"
