As one who has read every MacBride book, short story, his children's book, and who loved Half-Head enough to send it to a fantasy/sci-fi author friend who probably never read it or recoiled in horror at reading it, I say Mr. Stuart MacBride cannot write something not worth reading. The reviews put me off, but after Dead of Winter I had to have it or my library would be incomplete. It is definitely enjoyable. Figured the problematic issue out when the twist came in, but it is just lovely prose. That said I vote NO on anymore Lucy McVeigh. No. NO!
