Say what? I'm all for the abolition of the death penalty, but this film had the emotional weight of an overbudget student film. The acting was hammy - why cast an English actor as an Alabama DA? Why?? Michael B Jordan and Jamie Foxx looked like they were going through the motions of a Hallmark script, and we don't really get to know anyone else especially well. And then I made the mistake of looking at what the critics have to say... they're lapping this up! Nom nom nom. Don't get it at all, this subject deserves something better than a movie of this calibre. Looks like it was rushed together without enough substance to carry it for 2 and a half hours.
