All the 5 atar reviews have me wondering and worried.. either people's standards are low, or they're bots or something. *SPOILER ALERT* It was like two movies mashed together improperly. There was no lead up to the vampire addition, no weaving or hints other than the few seconds of flashbacks in the very beginning. It was just like the writer/producers were making a movie and got too stoned halfway through and said ”what if all the sudden we put vampires in there!?” it did not flow naturally. It was awkwardly switched in tone and feel. Then during the juke, the whole artsy imagination of future and past was just once again too sudden and unbelievable. Like the entire feel and vibe of the movie just switches again with a jarring transition. There was no similar creative ”artsy" filming or imaginative editing throughout the first hour of film.. no stylistic hints or segway. Just, throw this in, now throw that in. Very corny, and trying too hard to be edgy and artistic but missing the mark. Its a mish mash that left me unable to fully connect with the characters and storyline(s) I liked parts of it, especially the beginning half. And i can appreciate the creative aspects, but it just had a disjointed thrown together in a rush feeling to it. Entertaining but couldn't really take it seriously.

Love this movie. One of my all time favorites. Great message. Beautiful imagery. Sean Connery! Lorraine Bracco is spunky and fun and the two actors have great chemistry. It's one of my comfort movies that I could watch time and time again.
