Overall, it was a pretty good movie. But I wish it didn't have the leftist woke agenda added in there. I received this movie today (December 25, 2024) as a Christmas present, and I have been wanting to see it since I heard of it a year ago.
The issues that I want to address are:
1) Homosexuality is morally wrong. It is vile affections. It's condemned throughout scripture in the King James Bible, in both the Old Testament and the New Testament, as an abomination. Under the Old Testament, before the Lord Jesus Christ paid for the whole world's sins on the cross of Calvary via Roman crucifixion, it was a capital offense commanded by God to be punishable by death. Trace Adkins's character is right: Man and woman are supposed to come together in marriage for life, until death due them part. It's supposed to be a godly marriage, where both parties honor God, and to raise their children up in the admonition of the Lord. Homosexuality is not an option, and it's unacceptable. I'm paraphrasing, as it's not word-for-word, but it's true. "Homophobia" is a buzzword and an ad hominem attack against any normal people who stand against the sodomites. The LGBTQ agenda is satanic.
2) The second issue is sex outside of marriage. If neither person involved is married to anybody, it's fornication. If one or both members are married to someone else and they're cheating, that is adultery. One of the ten commandments is "Thou shalt not commit adultery.". Any sexual activity outside of male-female marriage is a sin. Sex is supposed to be between one biological man and one biological woman, within the covenant instituted by God called marriage. Marriage by definition is heterosexual. The leftists redefined marriage in 2015.
3) The third issue is abortion. Life begins at conception in the mother's womb. Abortion is murder. One of our rights endowed by our Creator is the right to live. People who support abortion claim that we're violating people's rights when we disagree with abortion. No, we're not. By having an abortion, you've just violated the rights of a human being to live, before he or she was born.
Overall, the movie was pretty good. Had a good storyline. Didn't care for some of the language (I used to use that same filthy language before I became a Christian). And the farmer rebuking his son for being a homosexual was redeeming quality. I wish I could give the movie 5 stars. But I cannot approve of sexual immorality or abortion, because I would be going against God.
