I loved The Break and The Strangers, also Ms Vermette’s poetry. All 5 star in my opinion. The first two novels in this series drew you in and carried with them a hope that, despite all the obstacles in the characters’ lives, most had the inner strength to move forward. This book was less compelling for me. I was not drawn in to the familiar characters’ stories this time.
