I think the messages they are trying to represent is quite good, but a mere idea won't really make this film a 10 out of 10.
The characters felt generic, I wouldn't mind if the main character was boy crazy or one or two were, but it seemed every girl had a crush on multiple boys. Which when I was in middle school, most girls never really cat called the boys off the benches during school. I found myself agreeing most of the time with the mother since, like me, she doesn't like boy bands or their nonsensical names or hip hop and the such. I myself personally like jazz or the oldies since of course, they are goldies. But a odd plot point was a Korean girl, I believe she seemed to be so asain that she couldn't tell toledo from Toronto despite have perfect English and a good understanding of it from what I could gather, and no one fact checked it, And just took her word for it. Weird.
a lot of times when the gate was locked the panda girl could open it easily and multiple grandmas also could though it was locked, without breaking? So it sorta fazed though. But for a first film the it's good enough but just barely. honesty mai mai was so annoying that I wished she was bullied more to shut her up, since kid shows forgot how to tell stories without having the characters say everything that happens on screen.
But eh, I can see why gen z would like it
and a lot of other groups to. Its just not for me. Feel free to message me and try and sway me to a 5 star review, I don't mind.
