I did not know anything about the original comic before watching this series to start with. I enjoyed watching it very much and found it easy to follow the flashback to now scenes. I honestly would watch season 2 if they make it however, after watching the last episode I decided to look into the original comic and found too many changes made which are disappointing and although conflicted by this knowledge I still want to see where they will take the series. I have come to terms with the fact that anything Netflix gets their hands on will be very different from it's original source and try to enjoy whatever they made for what it is rather than what they say it is. So now I will watch it as if it was completely a new redo like so many other comic companies did to all their original comics time and time again or like so many remakes of movies that should probably never have been done but been given a totally different name since they were nothing like the original and hope it can stand on its own. Try it and decide for yourself in the end it is up to you if you enjoy it or not and do not rely on others reviews as everyone has their own opinion.

Think it has a lot of potential. The creatures are pretty well done although could use more scenes with them. It seems a bit dull until an action scene comes up so you mostly watch like 80% acting before anything action to fill the hour (or almost 60 minutes including credits). There is a decent amount of gore for the scant action you get. I did enjoy it and each episode ending made me want to go to the next episode to see what would happen. I don't think it needed 10 episodes to get through the first season maybe it had something to do with whatever may have been lost in translation but hey it's good for what it is...so far.
