Like many others after watching this years Golden Globes and/or Emmy's we decided to watch The Bear. First off it was refreshing to see a series with 30 min episodes. They call it a comedy and it certainly has some funny parts but in general I'd call it a drama. Each episode seems to focus on a single character and their own story to help us get to know them better. Season 1 story line was entertaining and the characters were interesting enough to keep us going onto Season 2. Glad we did because we both enjoyed season 2 even more. Started getting real good 1/2 way thru. Episode 6 of the flashback Xmas dinner was very entertaining and had many surprise guest cameos but it was also completely chaotic and a bit hard to watch as it was so much GO GO GO. We needed to take a pause a few times to catch our breath. We found episodes 7,8 & 9 incredibly good and we enjoyed them more than any other episode of either season including the final episode 10 of Season 2. I read season 3 will begin filming in Feb 2024 and should be released in summer 2024. This would match the same timelines of season 2. We'll be looking forward to it's release!

Wife and I found S1 fairly entertaining however the entire show was hokey with many flaw.......but none as bad as the S1 finale. SPOILER ALERT His farm house.......with no garage.......is completely surrounded by 2 dozen cops yet the writers want us to somehow believe he got out with the kid and also a dead man's body in a shiny new black Tesla car. We see him looking at the cops driving into his property from his upstairs window and then he manages to get the 3 of them out to a car and past all the cops. No explanation how he pulled that off.....they just want us to believe he did. Then later on after a high speed car chase we find out the car has the dead guy in the drivers seat and kid riding shotgun. We're also expected to believe the Tesla automonous driving car had programming allowing it to speed to escape the detectives. And during the entire season why did the show hilite reels at beginning of each episode that often include new unseen footage that ruined the previous epsisode cliff hanger? At one point we had to go back in to past episodes because we thought for sure we missed an episode when the hilite reel showed us a major event that hadn't happened yet. I would've expected better more clever writing and better editing out of a David Kelly network production. And promoting Ryan Phillipe as one the major stars? Really? I bet he wasn't in 20 minutes total all season.
