Lucidity of monochrome filming, authentic 70s setting with attention to detail and a preference for strong sun makes for lyrical movie style that belies brutality of daily grind for two women and their social networks in Mexico. There is brilliant editing and continuity that provides an unbroken narrative. Amateur actors act their hearts out for this genius of a director.
