The first part of the book is filled with details about household chores, the protagonist's four children, etc. Then, when faced with a difficult situation, she and her husband quickly dismiss several possibilities and skip directly to a major decision. Why not devote a few pages to that conversation, instead of the housework stuff? After a while I couldn't stand it any more and flipped to the last pages. Interesting ending.
