Honestly, considering the author was only 18 when she wrote this it wasn’t the worst book I have ever read. It’s probably a close second. I know she describes it as a “mesh of the hunger games and the red queen” but it’s not just a mesh, it’s a complete copy and paste. I mean even the characters are the same, it’s not hard to add a little originality or even effort into coming up with new characters, places and plots. Even Ceasar Flickerman made an appearance (trust me you will know what I’m talking about if you read it). Overall read it if you want to jump on the booktok train (I know I’m guilty of it) but don’t expect anything you haven’t heard before.
