This is easily the worst movie I have watched in the last 7 years. I owe my wife an apology for wasting our date night on this movie that doesn't even qualify to be described as 'a piece of trash'. That would be an insult to trash. From the start, Will Ferrells obviously faked English accent was as welcoming as the thought of sleeping on a horse urine soaked bed, outside, on a February night. As for the plot - well, what plot ? I wont be surprised if they were writing the script as we watched the movie. It definitely felt that way. Any attempts at humour were just that - attempts, that fell flat on their faces. Not surprising, as the one-dimensional and cold characters filtered in and out of scenes without leaving any impression on the mind or contributing anything to a non existent plot. The end result felt like a randomly developing and unconvincing story line. On the positive side, I think they created a new genre of films which should be filed under "Time wasters". People should study these with the aim of knowing how NOT to make a film.

This had a lot of promise at the beginning but eventually failed to impress thanks to the lazy option the writers took to have the characters fall in love so easily and so quickly. With two people living in distinctly different worlds one would expect that finding common ground would come after a lot of friction, pain, tough conversations, tears, poignant moments - all of which would have made for very soul-stirring watching and rumination afterwards. But no, the writers just had to get the characters in bed as quickly and conveniently as possible. It reminded me of the cartoon characters who swallow mouth watering, juicy buggers whole without chewing. Very disappointing. Very.
