Not a lot…brilliant cast but can’t see them. Far too dark and jerky…one minute France then England which is problematic as too dark to identify characters. Only helped by the king and Conqueror being identifiable actors. Improves later when counties and places flash up on screen. Also why do the cast look as if they have rolled in pig shit ….particularly the men. Can’t the tech men using AI rerun the whole thing and lighten it so we can watch, see and make sense of it. Not sure I can watch the next episode, which has just started, and is even darker than the first….someone just died on the beach but no idea who it is as it was TOO DARK. Pity, such a waste of excellent actors. Now I have watched it all I have really enjoyed it. Once I became more and more in involved in each episode I could see the merits of the production. Sorry I slagged it off ,,,much too early. Well done BBC

Having read the books twice once with my year six class in 2000 and then in my retirement I was impressed by this adaptation. Each series was true to the book and the special effects were brilliant. Well done BBC.
