Movies can be fantastic or dreadful for a number of different reasons.
The thing about this movie that lowers it to 2 stars is the premise that a girl can fall what looks to be at least 50 feet onto a dead tree that impales her through the abdomen.
Then suddenly, she regains consciousness and sees a lighter that presumably fell from her pocket, along with her phone and ear-bud style headphones. (can't recall the proper term, sorry)
I do not think anyone over the age of 12 would think it possible for someone to be impaled after falling about 50 feet on a tree to survive, let alone burn that tree with a lighter and then somehow, the tree crumbles yet she doesn't scream in pain from the burns she undoubtedly would have suffered.
There is a suspension of belief required here that I just do not have. The film doesn't present as a zombie apocalypse type film. If it had, I would not be so harsh. It's just a stupid, unbelievable premise that someone could fall from this height and be impaled and live, AND engineer their own escape, and hold their breath while being underwater during a subsequent scene while she tries to get away from these three hunters that tossed her off the cliff in the first place.
It is an interesting film. It's not horrible beyond this problem of surviving the fall. They could have at least done some preliminary character development where she may have been using the phone and revealing herself to be a survivalist or something that would make the scenario more credible. But she is pretty, so there's that, lol.
