This is by far the best show I’ve binged in my life. I think it’s pretty medically accurate (not coming from a licensed doctor or anything) and I love when they zoom into the body to give the viewers a visual of what’s happening to the patient. All the characters are written beautifully and the producers have chosen fabulous actors to play them. Hugh Laurie did an outstanding job playing Dr. Gregory House, the witty, sarcastic doctor who can solve anything (although not without some pretty remarkable screw-ups 😂). At times, you’ll want to punch him. But in the end, he does his job well and cares a lot about the people he works with whether or not he says that explicitly. Jesse Spencer plays the pretty-boy surgeon, Dr. Robert Chase, who you’ll doubt at first, but has an amazing character arc toward the end of the show, one that might leave you shocked speechless- in a good way. Omar Epps portrays Dr. Eric Foreman, an amazingly smart neurosurgeon who always does what is right. Even though that might get annoying, he has his reasons! He is super witty and funny and one of my favorite characters. Jennifer Morrison plays Dr. Allison Cameron, the immunologist who acts as the group’s moral compass, trying her best to solve the case and keep her colleagues on track. And Dr. James Wilson, an earnest oncologist played by Robert Sean Leonard, is House’s best friend and one of the only people who can bring out his warmer side. I think it was very refreshing for House to have someone to turn to apart from his team of Chase, Cameron, and Foreman. And Leonard did a fantastic job of portraying him, as he is one of the most-loved characters from House. And of course we can’t forget about Cuddy (I know she has an official name but House always calls her this so it feels more appropriate), played by Lisa Edelstein. She’s supposed to be bossy and annoying, but in the end always has House’s back and will support him and his newest case. I also like how the show isn’t too focused on romance (although it’s there a little bit- no spoilers!!) and really delves into the medical info. Each episode is its own little story instead of continuation and I think that’s ideal because it’s really easy to watch. And the structure of each episode, almost as if they are solving a mystery (which they kinda are) is really entertaining. The chemistry between the characters and how they all played their parts so perfectly and how the episodes are made are some of the many factors that make this show one of the best. I 100% recommend for anyone seeking laughter, healthcare, eye-rolling, and a nice hearty serving of sarcasm.
(Watch at your own risk- you might get too attached to the characters like I have 😭)
